Ms.Willie Mae McDowell joined Triumph in 1997 as the Program Manager for the company’s first U.S. Agency for International Development contract with the Bureau for Europe and Eurasia. In this capacity, Triumph had presence internationally in numerous Eastern European countries. Based on successes at USAID, Ms. McDowell was promoted to the position of Director of Marketing and Sales which expanded Triumph’s USAID portfolio and increased the company’s revenue significantly. In 2004, Ms. McDowell was promoted to the position of Vice President of Customer and Public Relations where she has been instrumental in assuring customer service on all programs. Most recently Ms. McDowell assumed the role of Vice President for Corporate and External Affairs. With over 30 years of combined experience, she has worked on numerous projects in support of the company’s infrastructure.
As Triumph reviews its image in a global marketplace, Ms. McDowell provides leadership on “who” Triumph is and “what” we stand for externally. She is also responsible for Triumph’s corporate presence as viewed through the internet. As a measure of giving back, Ms. McDowell participates as a Career Day speaker annually for Fairfax County Schools. In addition, she oversees Triumph employee participation in this program which gives youth an outlook for careers in the industry.
Ms. McDowell is a member of the Board of Directors for the Parren J. Mitchell Foundation for Education and Talent Development, Inc. where she serves as Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee.
She is a graduate of Saint Augustine’s College and has also completed courses in the Executive Education Program at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. She was also a recipient of the Minority Enterprise Advocate’s Fifty Most Influential Minorities in Business Award.
