Mr. Robert Gast, Jr. attended the United States Naval Academy and received an athletic scholarship from Clemson University. He was a second round winter draft pick of the California Angels in 1980. After his baseball career, Mr. Gast continued his education and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and an MBA from the Merrick School of Business at the University of Baltimore.
Prior to joining Triumph Technologies, Mr. Gast has served as a CFO, Director, Controller and Vice President in both large international public and small private entrepreneurial organizations. His industry experience is diverse and has spanned technology & software, media, entertainment & professional sports as well as retail. He also served as a Senior Advisor during the complex financial restatement projects of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae in Washington, DC. Mr. Gast brings extensive experience in driving change management and implementing compliance (including SOX) and governance initiatives across all levels of an organization. He is experienced in both strategic and tactical analysis, integrating performance and compensation programs and M&A system, process and organizational synchronization. Mr. Gast’s strongest belief is that success is generated through the development and creation of human potential and talent.
Mr. Gast currently serves as an advisor to the Hoffberger Ethics Center at the University of Baltimore. He was also a founder of an on-going program panel which brings together members of the business, accounting, legal and academic communities annually to discuss and analyze relevant issues in the business world. He has served as an advisor to the Grant-A-Wish Foundation previously and was a member of the BCFM accounting standards board. He is an active marathon runner and tri-athlete and serves on the finance committee of the Prospect Bay Country Club on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
